Accessing any of our services begins with a walk-in session. Once you arrive at the Student Counseling Center, you will check in with the reception staff. You will then be asked to complete our initial paperwork (this takes most folks about 20 minutes). After you have completed the paperwork, you will see a therapist. He or she will will meet with you for about 20-30 minutes and will aid you with any immediate concerns and will help you decide what you need in order to address ongoing concerns. If any of our other services are appropriate for you, the walk-in therapist will arrange them. If other University services or resources in the community are needed, the therapist will help identify them. If you wish, you may download the Walk-in Paperwork, fill it out, print it out, and bring it in with you to your walk-in session.
During your walk-in session, your counselor may recommend further Student Counseling Center services. The counseling services provided by the Student Counseling Center are:
- Group counseling
- Individual counseling
- Couples counseling
- Feel Better Fast! workshops
- Crisis management
If you have previously done walk-in and are continuing to see a counselor, please contact our office to schedule an appointment.
